Ingredient Report

What's actually in a 16‑botanical metabolic drink?

Most weight-management powders don't tell you what's inside, or what the evidence says. Here is the full ingredient list for Umipear's daily orange drink, the published research behind the main botanicals, who shouldn't take it, and an honest account of what it can't do.

Umipear daily botanical drink lifestyle
A once-daily orange-flavoured botanical drink designed to fit into an ordinary routine.

There is a reason the supplement aisle feels impossible to navigate. Two products can carry near-identical marketing and contain completely different things — and in a category where the label is often the only information you get, that matters more than the promise on the front of the box.

Umipear's 16-in-1 Metabolic Sculpting Powder is a once-daily orange-flavoured drink mix sold in 30 single-serve stick packs. The supplied formula sheet lists 16 active ingredients plus maltodextrin, food flavouring, steviol glycosides and silicon dioxide. Vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO and stimulant-related claims should be confirmed from final manufacturing documentation before publication.

Rather than restate the marketing, this page does something more useful: it lists every ingredient, cites the research that exists for the main ones, and states plainly what a supplement like this can and cannot be expected to do.

This is a dietary supplement, not a weight-loss treatment. It is intended for use alongside a reduced-calorie diet and regular physical activity. It is not a substitute for either, and it will not produce weight loss on its own. Individual results vary and are not guaranteed.

Section 01What kind of formula is this?

Umipear combines dietary fibres, plant extracts, fruit-derived ingredients and chromium in a single orange-flavoured powder. The fibre ingredients include konjac powder, inulin and flaxseed fibre, while the botanical blend includes mulberry leaf, white kidney bean, bitter melon, black tea, lotus leaf and other plant extracts.

This formula contains black tea extract and bitter orange extract. Black tea may contribute naturally occurring caffeine, while the exact active-compound content of the finished product should be confirmed from the manufacturer's testing documents before making any caffeine-free or stimulant-free claim.

The formula is intended as a daily dietary supplement. It should not be presented as a treatment or as a substitute for balanced meals, regular activity or medical care.

Section 04What the research actually shows

The studies below examine individual ingredients, not this finished product. No clinical trial has been conducted on the Umipear formula as a whole, and the presence of a studied ingredient does not mean the product will replicate a study's results — dose, form and study population all matter.

Soluble fibre and fullness

Glucomannan, the fibre in konjac root, is among the more studied ingredients in this category. A systematic review of randomised controlled trials examined its effect on body weight in overweight and obese adults and children [1], and an earlier critical review assessed the wider evidence base for glucomannan in obesity [2]. Findings across trials have been mixed, and reviewers have noted variation in dose and study quality.

Prebiotic fibre and appetite hormones

A randomised controlled trial in overweight and obese adults found that supplementation with oligofructose, a fibre closely related to inulin, was associated with changes in the appetite-regulating hormones ghrelin and peptide YY [3]. A broader review of dietary fibre and body weight provides useful context on the mechanism [4].

Mulberry leaf extract

A controlled study examined the effect of mulberry leaf extract on the blood glucose response following a sucrose load in both people with type 2 diabetes and control subjects [6]. This is mechanistic research on glucose response, not weight loss.

Chromium

Chromium is an essential trace mineral. Its role in normal carbohydrate and macronutrient metabolism is established [7]; its usefulness as a weight-loss supplement in people who are not chromium-deficient is considerably less clear.

Section 05Who should not take this

Do not use if you are
  • Under 18 years of age. This product is for adults only.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding. The botanical blend has not been established as safe for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Taking prescription medication — particularly medication for diabetes, blood thinners, or thyroid medication. Mulberry leaf extract, bitter melon and chromium may be relevant to blood-glucose management.
  • Living with a diagnosed medical condition, or scheduled for surgery. Speak to your doctor first.
  • Managing or recovering from an eating disorder. Appetite-suppressing products are not appropriate and can be harmful in this context.

Timing note for anyone on oral medication: soluble fibre can slow the absorption of medicines taken at the same time. Leave a gap of at least two hours between this drink and any oral medication.

Adjusting to fibre: a sudden increase in dietary fibre commonly causes gas, bloating or looser stools in the first week. Starting with half a stick pack and drinking plenty of water reduces this. Discontinue use and speak to a healthcare provider if you experience any adverse reaction.

Section 06How to use it

Tear open one stick pack and stir into 200–250 ml of water — warm water below 40 °C (104 °F), or cold water if you prefer it chilled. Take it once daily. Many people find it easiest to attach to an existing habit, such as mid-morning or roughly half an hour before the largest meal of the day.

Consistency matters more than timing. Fibre-based formulas depend on daily use, and skipping days is the most common reason people report no effect.

Section 07Setting realistic expectations

This is the part most supplement pages leave out.

A daily botanical drink is a support tool. It may make an existing calorie-controlled diet easier to stick to by helping with fullness between meals, and the prebiotic fibre may improve digestive regularity. What it will not do is cause weight loss in the absence of dietary change and physical activity. Any product marketed as doing so is misrepresenting itself.

Sustainable weight change comes from a sustained energy deficit, adequate protein, sleep and regular movement. If those foundations aren't in place, no supplement compensates for them — and the money is better spent elsewhere. If they are in place, a product like this may make consistency somewhat easier. That is a modest claim, and it is the accurate one.
